Cashmere grey mélange is the background for the Verbier’s hand-embroidered feather design motif, two of which appear on the sweater’s front and another on its back. In contrast, the full fashion hand-knit ribbed pattern on the hem of the sleeve and waist is much subtler, and the rolled or rolling turtle neck is a distinctive Robert Comstock design detail. As lightweight and comfortable as down, the Verbier, as any quality work of value, is likely a collector’s item, meant to be worn and enjoyed, perceived to be high fashion, if not art. Like all of his original designs, each Verbier is signed and numbered by Robert Comstock.
